Why do you want to work as a nanny?

HI! my name is Andrew and I am 29 years old. I was recently a lead teacher of a Montessori infant room of 16 infants ranging 4 months-18 months. I was also in charge of 6 other adults. I worked there for the past 2 and a half years and enjoyed my time there. I made many family connects and babysit occasionally for many families. The reason I left was because although it was nice to see 16 children grow and learn so much within the first 18 months, it was just too many children. I want to be able to focus my time one on one or one on 3. Something a lot smaller to help nurture their small minds. I have worked in childcare for over 12 years. my mother was a childcare provider and it became like second nature to me. I have worked as a nanny for two previous families within the last 7-8 years. I was at a chain name child care center for about 3 years (april 2007-jan 2010 and my last place for 2.5 years (Jan 2010-Aug 2012). I have been a camp counselor for children k-6th grade and also worked in an after school program with the same age group by in 2002-2004. I also worked in leadership with Jr. and Sr. high youth groups. I do take public transportation but am efficient at it and hope to have my lic by the end of the year.

Attitude and work ethic

Working in Montessori has given me a new prospective on childcare and what exactly children are capable of doing if we simple direct them in learning. I do take the attachment approach to being with a young child. I believe their little minds don't full grasp how to communicate and its my job to learn what works for your child to help foster their learning and communication. I have taken ASL in college and would love to incorporate the language any way that I can. I am also a baker (semi professional). I love to bake! which can also be integrated in learning for children. Who doesn't like to make something themselves and then eat it!? I am looking for full time and have a great work ethic. I, knock on wood, rarely get sick. Maybe once a year and would work with you if time off was needed well in advance.
