Why do you want to work as a nanny?

I graduated from SDSU in 2011 with my BA in speech language pathology. Now I'm receiving my doctorate in audiology, but took a year off to be closer to my family in Sacramento. I would ideally like to go into Pediatric Audiology and eventually health care administration. But right now I'd like to work with children and not stick probes into the their ears when they come in with an ear infection. I grew up in Rosemont, swam for College Greens, live in Campus Commons and enjoy Midtown. I grew up with nanny's helping out in the summer and always really enjoyed the time. I enjoy gardening, cooking, reading (currently reading East of Eden), biking, taking walks, playing tennis, and painting my nails. I have car and flexible schedule. I have basic life support certification, a recent background check, and I'm up to date on vaccinations..

Attitude and work ethic

Forgive me for copying and pasting this from another nannying website. I'll fine tune this answer over time. I can't stand in line at the grocery store without playing peek-a-boo and I 've been known to lead a sing along of "wheels on the bus" on the bus. For me, the best part of last week was helping my friend's 10 year old brother figure out how to subtract decimals. And I hope the best part of his week was doing so well at it! I reviewed his work, asked him why he chose certain answers, and helped him work through his problems. And when he beat himself up for getting an answer wrong I think I did a pretty good job of convincing him that subtracting decimals is hard for everyone which is why I spent so long studying for the GRE. In my grad school life I'm known for being an excellent clinician and colleague. I've been accused of being a workaholic, but try to make the work fun for everyone.
