Why do you want to work as a nanny?

I have not worked in a child care environment but am interested in starting my own daycare center. I have a 20 month old granddaughter who I am seeking custody and would like to spend my time caring for her and also have the opportunity of working. Daycare has always been an interest of mine because I love kids and teaching them new things. There is nothing more rewarding than teaching a child something and seeing the results of your efforts every day. I love music and using it to teach. I have very reliable transportation and would be able to drive to pick up or drop off children at school or lessons. I will be taking classes to get certified in CPR and First Aid.

Attitude and work ethic

Again I have not worked in the child care field but have children of my own. I have worked in the restaurant industry for 13 years as a manager. (Sometimes managing those employees was like trying to teach children.) I need a more fulfilling job where I can use my teaching skills to really make a difference. Being an important role model in a chlid's life is very important. I understand the problems parents have with child care having worked my whole life. I simply would like to play a part in assisting a family in need.
