Why do you want to work as a nanny?

I have worked as a nanny off and on since high school. I did the normal babysitting for date nights, but also watched children for the entire summer. I worked as a nanny part-time while I was in college for a little boy who was 9 months old when I first started watching him, and I watched him for over a year. I currently watch 2 boys ages 6 and 15 years old, and I've watched them for close to 2 years. I also watched three children part-time during the school year since the two I watched were in school full-time. The children I watched were 14 mos, 3 years, and 4 years old when I first started watching them. I absolutely adore being with children and taking care and interacting with them.

Attitude and work ethic

I love working with children and I believe that while I am working I am there to interact with the children, not just watch them. My number one job is to keep them safe, but I also work with them on their educational and social skills. For example, I believe in teaching while playing - anything from learning the alphabet to reading and learning site words, playing outdoors - walks, sidewalk chalk, going to the park, playing sports, etc., and using their imaginations. Kids are such fun, earnest, and wonderful little people. I always arrive on time or early each day that I work, I limit the amount of television the children watch, and make/feed kids their meals and snacks.
