Why do you want to work as a nanny?

Growing up in a big family and a big neighborhood, I have provided care for kids of all ages. I have the most experience with kids newborn-5, as I have provided frequent overnight and multi-day care for my nephew throughout his life. With babies, I'd love to simultaneously learn and teach baby yoga and baby sign language, and can provide giggles and snuggles as needed. For older kids, reading and storytelling are my favorite activities, as well as age-appropriate crafts... there's no end to how creative kids can get if you can engage them! I'm very patient and nurturing, but also a lot of fun. I can cook a few things, make endless healthy snacks, do light housework such as laundry, etc. I plan someday to be a teacher, and absolutely love working with kids in every setting. I'd rather be a nanny over a babysitter because I truly want to be part of your child's life and growth experience, not just someone who watches your kids from time to time.

When I'm caring for a child (or children), those children are my only priority. It's important to me not just to watch the kids until their parents get home, but to engage them. Every moment is an opportunity to learn or create, and while that doesn't mean I'm opposed to downtime, even play can often be so beneficial to your child's growth. I know how important it is to you, the parents, that your children are nurtured, and when you can't be home, it's vital that the person caring for your children understands that. I pay close attention to each child's physical and emotional needs and limitations, and the way I care for kids adapts as their own needs change.
