Texas is big, that's for sure. Being an Austin nanny puts you in the position of being in a place where there is a lot to see and do, and many things to keep the kids entertained for hours. Here you can find a good variety of choices in places to visit, things to see, and lessons to learn, and all of them close enough to you to make getting there fairly easy.

Any Austin nanny can bring the kids to a great place where you might all see something you have never seen before - more than one and a half million bats, all emerging from their resting place under the Congress Avenue Bridge each night at dusk. The sight is absolutely spectacular and will amaze and thrill all of you. Austin is home to more bats than any other place in the United States, and they consume more than 10,000 pounds of bugs each night. There is even a kiosk set up to educate and inform people about the bats, their habits, and their history. You can also receive great information about them from the Bat Conservation International, located nearby.

There are plenty of other family and child oriented things to do too, all of which would be great for the Austin nanny to take advantage of including the Austin Children's Museum, the Austin Nature and Science Center, the Austin Zoo, and many other things which you and the kids will love and learn from. You may also enjoy getting wet to cool down, or watching the little ones have fun with the water, at Splash! Into the Edwards Aquifer, or even the Barton Springs, which will allow you and the kids to truly enjoy the summer season.

There is also a great Miniature Train at Zilker Zephyr that you can all enjoy together.
