"I had worked in Daycare before, but wanted a job that was more one-on-one with the kids. I found the perfect position with Nannypro.com."

If you're new to the babysitter world, you've likely heard the words babysitter and au pair. Most people believe that the two words are synonymous, but the reality is very different. The only real similarity between a babysitting job and an au pair is that they are hired to provide childcare for children while parents are unable to care for them.
A nanny or babysitter is a childcare provider who works anywhere from 40 to 60 hours a week helping families to take care of their children. A babysitting job may require that the individual live with the family, or they may simply work a scheduled shift. They always take care of the children at the primary residence of the family. Babysitters need to take their babysitting job serious, meaning that they take being a babysitter or nanny as their primary job, and that they intend to be a nanny for a fairly large chunk of time. Many babysitters are looking for part-time or short-term employment. A babysitter or nanny may be asked only to provide childcare for the children, or they may be asked to maintain the cleanliness and the neatness of the house while they're taking care of the children. Part of the babysitting job may be to prepare meals and snacks for the children of the house, and occasionally for the other family members.
One thing that has changed recently about the babysitting job is that lots of young men and women undertake positions like these. In fact, there's even a colloquial term for men with a babysitting job - " mannies."
